The story of the two woodcutters
Two woodcutters were cutting wood.
One woodcutter was known for working tirelessly from dawn till dusk. He chopped down tree after tree with his axe, never stopping. The other woodcutter, however, seemed to take breaks in the middle of the day. Every few hours, he would disappear into the woods, only to return after a while and continue chopping. The first woodcutter would wonder and ask: “How come you disappear ever other hour and still cut more wood than me?” Little did he know, the first woodcutter was going to sharpen his axe, allowing him to work faster and with less effort. “I don’t have time to stop and sharpen my axe. I need to keep working.” he said. But over time, the results became clear. The first woodcutter’s pace slowed, his cuts became less efficient, and he struggled to keep up with the second. Like the second woodcutter, we understand that taking time to invest in our tools gives us the edge. It’s not about working harder; it’s about working smarter, ensuring that our tools are always performing at their best.
